I hope folks will stop by this page every once in a while and remember... Today, I was so moved by a picture emailed to me. I got to meet Michael, Dawn and the kids at last year's AFAC Tri. We will miss him, and today I race for their family.

I lost my Father, Stepmother, and Stepfather all to different types of cancers. I race for them. I race for the others who will be diagnosed, and for their loved ones who fight just as hard for them as they do for themselves. I race for the wisdom and healing that comes because of the funds raised due to our efforts, and the generosity of the heroes who give what they can, and sometimes what they really can't afford to. I race for the survivors. I race for those who fought the good fight, and now look down with a blessed knowledge and understanding of all our cries of "Why?". I race because I can. I race because I love you all.

I play for the 49ers to satisfy my own competitive drive and to stay healthy as a surviror.

I race for my Dad, a survivor and inspiration. I race for my son so he never has to live with the idea of PC. I race for my grandfather who beat PC. I race for myself, because I am a potential 1 in 3 someday. I race for my family, because their example of love and support knows no limits. I race for the belief that there is and will be a cure soon. I race for the simple reason that I can make a difference and I do have an impact on fighting PC. Finally, I race for those that cannot and for everyone that has and will be affected by this disease.

I race for 4 reasons:

1. I race for my soulmate and best friend..Pam, for my kids, Katie and Jimmy and my extended family who are unbelievable supporters.
2. I race because I believe the "Big Guy" never gives you more than you can handle.
3. I race for all those who feel they are facing insurmountable obstacles that life has thrown at them and
4. I race because I have a passion for life!

I am 1 in 6 and returned to the Disney AFAC 7 months after surgery.

I don't race much, but when I do I race for my mom. She is a breast cancer survivor. She is always there for me and I admire her strength and courage.
I also race for my dad, so if he is one day one of the 1 in 6, he will have the best support and treatments available.

I (am going to) race for my Dad. He is my hero...the greatest man I know. Every daughter should be lucky enough to have a Dad as loving, fun and wonderful as him. He was just diagnosed May 1 and has started hormone treatment with radiation to follow. I race so that no daughter, son, wife, sister, brother, father or mother ever has to hear "its cancer" again.
